The Soma Shop

In Dystopia we have our own town currency (which will be implemented in game when we reach rank 2). It's called Soma. This thread explains what it is, how to earn it, and what you can do with it. It is also to keep track of who earns and buys what from the soma shop.

How to earn soma

. Suggest a cool dystopia/utopia-themed project that is used : 1-2 soma

. Help with a town project such as building, collecting materials, or helping mayor/deputy with town work : 1-5 soma

. Give new residents a tour : 1 soma

. Organize an event in town (such as spleef, trapdoor games, treasure hunts, etc.) : 1-3 soma

. Build a house : 1-2 soma (inspection by alcmene)

. Build a shop : 1-2 soma (inspection by alcmene)

. Reach rank 5 in a role while living in Dystopia : 3 soma

. Install a Star Gate in Dystopia : 3 soma

. Place an NPC in Dystopia : 3 soma

. Use the Dystopia signature : 2 soma (http://i.imgur.com/Z17fM.png)

. Generally be helpful and have a good attitude : 1-2 soma

. Write a book for the town library : 1-3 soma

. Write an addition to the history/lore of Dystopia : 1-3 soma

. Help with a continuous job such as checking that farms are replanted : 1 soma

. Make some nice graphics or images that we can use in our town forum, etc. : 2 soma

Donations

The main reason for donating should be to help your town (which we all benefit from, after all). However, if you want to, you can buy soma with bux (or wanted materials - see the materials thread). The cost for soma will be quite high as we would prefer people to earn soma rather than simply buy it but also want this option to be available to players who maybe aren't able to do a lot of work in town but still want to contribute.

The rate is 1 soma = 2000 bux (or equivalent value of wanted materials).

Soma shop

1 soma : place an ad on town hall ad board

2 soma : swap your house lot to any available lot of the same size

10 soma : Buy a second house lot to do whatever you want with (must be approved by mayor)

10 soma : Dystopian Wish - wish for anything! If denied you will get 8 soma back

15 soma : buy a special 30x30 house lot (houses must be approved by mayor before building)

20 soma : Your name in the Hall of Infamy

Town Ranks

Dystopia has 6 ranks. The names of each have been taken from Dystopian films or books (in brackets after the name)! If you want to rank up contact the town mayor or a deputy in-game. Please make sure that you meet all the requirements before doing so. Once you rank up you must wait 1 week before you can rank up again.

1 - Prole (1984)

Requirements:
- Buy a lot in Dystopia
- Take a tour

Perks:
- Can gain soma
- Can use non-auto farms
- Can use nether portal

2 - Epsilon (Brave New World)

Requirements:
- 5 soma
- 1 spawn egg of any type
- Passed house inspection

Perks:
- Can use semi-auto melon/pumpkin farms
- Can use Clay factory
- Can buy shop lot
- Can use soma shop
- Can host a small event in Dystopia

3 - Droog (A Clockwork Orange)

Requirements:
- 8 soma
- 2 spawn eggs of any type
- Hosted at least one small event in Dystopia (must provide evidence, e.g. screenshot)

Perks:
- Can use End portal
- Can use the semi-auto cocoa farm
- Can start a large project in town (need mayor approval)

4 - Replicant (Blade Runner)

Requirements:
- 12 soma
- 4 spawn eggs of any type

Perks:
- Access to the secret Dystopia chat channel
- Can buy Dystopian Wish in the soma shop
- Can use ether 14 gate
- Can make small 'decorative' edits around Dystopia (such as felling trees, adding flowers/grass, or small terraforming). Must be used in the interests of the town.
- Can use Mystic tree farm (not yet available)

5 - Original (Never Let Me Go)

Requirements:
- 15 soma
- 6 spawn eggs of any type
- Completed a large project (discuss with mayor first)

Perks:
- Can apply to be a reclaimer
- Can buy Hall of Infamy in the soma shop
- Is a Judge: takes part in and votes on town matters brought by the mayor
